NON-ANESTHETIC DENTAL CLEANING

Non-Anesthetic Dental cleaning involves scaling (scraping with an instrument) of a dog's teeth without putting the dog under anesthesia. These cleanings are:

  • Free of drugs

  • Removes tartar build-up with a hand scaler 

  • Teeth polishing

  • General hygiene for plaque and calculus removal

  • Oral health maintenance

 

IS MY DOG ELIGEBLE ?

  • Eligible

    • Dogs that cooperate are welcome

    • Dogs with healthy gums and teeth

    • Old dogs should be evaluated

 

  • Non-eligible

    • Gum disease (inflammation/deep pocket or pus

    • Mobility teeth

    • Root exposure or abscess

 

PROCEDURE

  • The professional holds the dog in the lap while talking to him in a reassuring manner. This is a gentle technique and completely drug-free.

  • The cleaning itself takes around 30-45 minutes, depending on the situation.

  • Please note that non-anesthetic dental cleaning is intended as a routine surface cleaning only and is not a substitute for extensive dental procedures. 

  • Your dog will first have a brief wellness exam and if a more extensive oral care is needed such as extractions or treatment for gum disease, you will be referred to your vet for further assistance.
